Game based quiz platform for classrooms and teams, with AI tools for generating quizzes from content.
Kahoot! is a game based learning platform for creating, sharing and playing quizzes and learning games. The company describes it as a way to make a learning game in minutes, and it is used in classrooms, offices and at home.
A game made on the platform is called a kahoot. You choose the format and number of questions and can add videos, images and diagrams. Live games are played in a group: the host shows questions on a big screen, and players join with a unique PIN and answer on their own devices. Hosts can also send kahoot challenges that players finish at their own pace, which Kahoot! suggests for homework or remote training.
After a game, players can make and share their own kahoots. Premium plans for schools and businesses add co creation with colleagues and help finding relevant games for a class or training session. The TrueIQ listing also notes AI tools for generating quizzes from content; check Kahoot! for which plans include them.
Kahoot! names three main audiences. Teachers and students use it to introduce topics, review, reward and collect data for formative assessment. Companies use it for training, presentations, team building and events. Families and friends use it for trivia at parties and gatherings.
How it fits on TrueIQ: Kahoot! belongs in the assessment category because quizzes give teachers quick formative feedback on what a class has understood. It is not a validated psychometric test, and a quiz score in a timed game reflects speed and engagement as well as knowledge. For graded coursework and exams, Gradescope in this category is the closer fit, and for hiring tests see TestGorilla or Criteria. Plan names and prices change often, so confirm them on the Kahoot! site.
