Codility

Codility is a skills assessment platform for engineering hiring and for measuring the skills of existing engineering teams. It says it powers more than 20,000 engineering teams and lists customers such as GitHub, SpaceX, Tesla, SAP and Citi.

The platform has three parts. Screen gives candidates real problems to solve in their own time, so teams get a signal before engineers spend time on interviews. Interview runs structured technical interviews. Skills Intelligence maps what an engineering organization can already do, so leaders can find language and framework gaps and staff projects on validated skills before hiring externally.

Assessments run in VS Code with full tooling, including package installation, terminal access, multifile projects and documentation. Automated code analysis rates quality, maintainability and complexity, not only whether code runs. Codility lets each employer decide how AI tools are used in a test, and it offers a growing library of AI specific tasks that check prompt writing, when to trust or override a model, and debugging AI generated code. Integrity features include identity verification, impersonation detection and proctoring.

On compliance, Codility says its assessments are designed by industrial and organizational psychologists with documented methodology and auditable scoring. It lists SOC 2 audits, ISO 27001 certification, CCPA and GDPR compliance and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility, plus applicant tracking and HRIS integrations and an API.

How it fits on TrueIQ: Codility and HackerRank are the two technical hiring platforms in this category, and both now test how engineers work with AI rather than banning it. Codility puts extra weight on code quality analysis and on mapping existing team skills. The skills hiring statistics on its home page are marketing figures without linked studies, so we do not repeat them as fact. Prices come through sales.
